Man I hate losing one but as my sig line says

Sorry for your loss. The sucky part of the business.

Lost one a few years ago the same way----my nurse cow which left a 3 week old heifer calf for me to raise.

They can find all kinds of ways to die. The only creature I know of that comes close are Thoroughbred horses. You can put one in a padded stall and ten minutes later they come out all busted up and bleeding.

i lost an old cow a few weeks ago like that. she SOMEHOW got herself lodged b/w willow trees that my dad had pushed down. dont konw how she got in there. i dont mind so much when an old cow that i was going to have to sell anyway finds some freak way to go out, but it sucks when they young gals do it.

try some sheep katherine, they give up & tip over on a whim

  I have a neighbor who has sheep-----he hasn't given up yet. My dealings with sheep have been limited. And from what I know and what I have seen----I do not wish to subject myself to sheep.
