Longhorns in Canada

We've had several inquiries about our bull semen from Canadian ranchers. Just wondered if any of the Canadians on this board have any comments on the subject...pro or con!

We're in process of investigating some of the international regulations involved; however, are still waiting on some responses from various places.

There are a few guys near me that raise roping steers. They run good, don't know what they'd be like to eat, though. I guess you might have some potential if you could breed some depth into them. Every one I've ever seen looks pretty skinny, but maybe they're supposed to look that way. Don't really know enough about them to comment.

There should be no problem exporting semen to Canada. However one never knows. I am a longhorn rancher in Northern Alberta Canada and would like to consider trying it out. Or maybe we may have some advantage to offer you folks. Our longhorns run with moose. So who knows what possabilities lie ahead. :?:

Had to chuckle at your comment about the moose, swanman. Can you imagine the marketting possibilities of your calves if you could get a moose/longhorn hybrid going? Those "Big Loop" cowboys would really have a run for their money then!
