Well the sun set 2 minutes 45 seconds later than it did on Dec 14. Seems like I should have been able to get more accomplished this afternoon with all that extra time. But seems like everything it tougher when things are cold. Perhaps tomorrow will be more productive. And warmer.

OMG..... I just looked at the "cheat sheet" I have of c*/f* temp conversions... and at -40 it is the same temp for both.
God Bless both you and your cattle....

Weather Underground on my computer says tomorrow will be 1 second longer than today. What will I do with all the extra daylight?

Your sunset is about 3 minutes later than it was at on its earliest sunset this year, and you sunrise is later. So be sure to allocate your time accordingly.

Difficult to see when the sun sets here. It goes behind the hills at a little before 2:00. So to avoid being working after the actual sunset I come into the house shortly after it hides behind the hills. Besides when it drops behind the hills experience has taught me that the temperature also drops.

Cold weather set in here the day after Thanksgiving and is only now beginning to break. Several small snows and a low one morning of 1 degree.
Now they say we will get two weeks of well above normal and it is welcomed by me.
When I lived on the creek dusk always began about 45 minutes early and it was 5 degrees colder when the wind was not blowing. Now that I live on a high ridge it is the wind I worry about.

The next 10 days or so we are supposed to have temps 20 degrees above normal for the year... high 70's a lot of days... and I could not be happier! I am going to help my neighbor now, with a totally unnecessary project, but I need to do it, and my horses need to do it, so I am grateful for this weather. :) Only 3 months left til spring, and 6 mos til summer!

For most of this week we are supposed to be 59 or 60 degrees for a high. I don't remember having a December like this. We don't have any snow on the ground, everything we got after Thanksgiving is gone. It was pretty warm this morning when I went out to feed, I didn't really need my heavy coat. I could have gotten by with my jean jacket. On the bright side my calves are looking great. I hoping to get top dollar for them in January.
