We have a 255 Massey with a 330 GB loader. I have owned it for 9yrs. 2 years ago I had the front end redone. It's wore out again! We use 4 x 4 rolls, so I didn't think they are too heavy. We also use it to load manure, haul wood and clean calf pens. I am trying to decide what to do with the tractor(after it's fixed). Maybe I need something bigger? One idea is to get a skidsteer for the loading. Or another would be to find an industrial loader tractor that has 3pt and pto? Are these size Massey's not good for loaders? TIA.

Did you keep the front end greased up? I have a couple Deere field tractors that still have the original parts in the front end and we are talking 1983 model tractors.

I bought a 1975 MF255 in 1976 that I replaced the king pin in one time at about 10 or 15 years old. Zerk was missing and I never greased or didn't grease enough. Replaced zerk with king pin and haven't replaced since. About 6 years ago added remotes and new Bush Hog loader. Most of our hay is 5 x5. So far no problems. I think 255 is good all around tractor that does a good job.
