Okay here goes.
I'm prepared for folks weighing in who don't care for crossbreds, DM breeds or DM crossbreeds...
Babe is 10 months old, about 5/8 Belgian Blue (likely a little more), 1/4 Gelbvieh and the last 1/8 we have an idea of but not 100% certain, but I suppose it isn't major enough to matter much.

That is the correct use of a double muscled breed. It's supposed to make TERMINAL crossbred calves!

But someone has to raise the DM seedstock to get the TERMINAL calves ;)

True that, but it needs to be pure to be seedstock...
KNERSIE, most BB in United States are high percentage and purebred BB and not too many fullblood BB around here. Many of us prefers high percentage and purebred BB over fullblood BB. My neighbors are raising high percentage BB cattle and they are using the bull on their show cows. Nice solid black DM calves there right now.

Nice pictures, Anne. You are my favorite. I like you better than BLACK cows. :D

Thanks Ron :)

I like all colors tho. As long as the calf under the hide is something to see.
I don't discriminate much, a good calf is calf, purple or green, eared or bobtailed...
:)
But I am a sucker for unusual/pretty markings especially.
