Does any body have any advice? We have had an offer to trade 3 horses, 2 register, 1 not, that are 4-5 yrs not broke for a cow and calf and she is breed back? Think it's a good deal???
We have a paint and a sorrel that is register, and a dunn that can be registered, but isn't none are broke. The cow, is a limousene, 7-8 yrs old with a charlios (sp?) bull calf about 2-3 months old on her side, and she is possibly bred back. Any thoughts? :cboy:
Thanks

Depends on the horses, and what you would do with them, and how much the cow is worth. Are they mares, geldings, studs? If mares, the two registered ones could be worth something. The unregistered on (even if bred) is realy not worth much.
If geldings they aren't worth much unles broke to ride. Lots of work to get them broken in. Studs I would simply stay away from. Personally I would not do this. One cow eats a lot less than 3 horses.

There are too many variables not mentioned for anybody to give an good guess.

Do you currently have the horses or the cows?

Any time you can get rid of a horse and get something (anything) in return, it's a good deal.

The cow is a 3-in-1 package... 3 horses. Not knowing anything else about the horses or cow or breeding of either or age of the cow... i would lean towards keeping the cow.
