We left Baker City about 8:15 last night. As soon as we pulled out of town the light show started. Seemed like nearly constant lightning. Big bright ones. No rain with it over half the way home. Then we hit a stretch for about 3 miles where we were slowed to 40 mph on the freeway because it was raining so hard. Then it turned to a steady drizzle. The last couple miles to home there was water running over the road at every little draw. It must have poured down here at little earlier. No fires reported yet but we wait to see what daylight brings. I am sure there was no fires started under that down pour. But the lightning area appeared wider than the rain storm.

My son lives in Deadwood, SD and I think they got your lightening storm this evening. He took pictures as it passed over Sturgis, and Holy Cow that was a light show. They didn't get any rain in Deadwood but he hasn't said if he knows what they got in Sturgis.
