Does anyone have any experience or opinions on this line?
Looking at a second tractor to handle general chores around here, my 1958 Dexta is getting tired, and Momma is getting tired of looking at it ;-) ;-) .

I noticed this brand a year or two back. I was sort of waiting for reports to get out as to what folks thought about them. I even went as far as checking pricing for comparisons. What I found I didn't like. I could get one that I can get parts and service for almost anywhere for the same price. So I bought another Red tractor. Who knows maybe in a few years we will know what these are made of.

JB Hunt Trucking Co. owner and partners are backing this brand in the US. Parts are out of Arkansas. Nearest dealer is $2000.00 less expensive than second tier equals and $4600.00 less than big 3 (with less equal specs). It's tempting! These modesl have been sold for several years under the FarmTrac Brand also. They have 4 cylinder Mitsubishi engines and eaton/Dana hydraulics. I haven't looked at them yet, but I will Friday. I think the dealer could make the difference.

Thanks for the reply Flaboy!

The distributor of them is a friend of mine. If you need any info, PM me and I'll get you in touch with him. He has told me they are selling the fire out of them.

That would be a worry for me since FarmTrac has such a lousey reputation around here.
I tried one of the larger Montana tractors before I got the one I have now. The cab was noisy, the shifter was horrible, for me anyway none of the controls were convenient.

Drive it some before you buy it. Even though they're less money if you get mad everytime you get in it it's hardly a bargain

Dun, You are absolutely correct. They wanted us to sell Montana's BUT with the failure of FARMTRAC around here, and there being a Montana dealer 20 miles away, we declined. I wonder what will happen to all those Farmtracs that never sold.

Yep folks around here were saying the Farmtracs were really rebranded New Hollands. Funny, Funny! As far the Montana tractors go, I think Mitsi makes a good diesel but I would question the Dana hydraulics statement.

I saw some foreign job advertized the other day where the DEALER was saying it was a tractor that used all Massey parts. I sent him an email (you know me, I will confront ya) asking where he got his info about these things being Massey parts. He answered stating that some Korean place made some parts for the compact Massey's and since some of those parts were on this model, hence the Massey tractor reference. It has a Toyosha engine that was bought out by Iseki. Now I can believe that Iseki may use some of the same parts as the lawn mower tractors that Massey has but, nothing in the utility or larger sizes even come close the Iseki parts.

Crowder, I believe dealers about as far as I can spit.

The one they said takes Massey Ferguson parts is Ursus. They are made in Poland at least most were. THEY DONT interchange with MF at all. Some had a few parts that might work. But not nearly all. They built for MF many years, but are not MF. Thats like some dealers will tell you IH Tractors and Mahindra tractors are the same. Buyer beware.

Agreed. The best advice I can pass along is, if you plan to use it hard and for many years, invest in a major brand sold throughout the USA with many dealers and service departments. You may pay more initially but I suspect in the long run you will save money.

Dealers will tell you anything to sell you something. I think to be a dealer or work in one, you must lack a conscience.

The local Montana dealer was willing to knock 5k off the price for cash. That scared me away as much as the tractor itself did

Dun had it right! As usual. Trans was flaky, overall quality not up to others. In the end I went orange, Kioti Orange. Best bang for the buck and a great dealer to boot. Thanks all for your input.

NO, NO, NO, NO, tell me you didn't do that! Well, good luck with it. Which model did ya get?

Flaboy:
DK45. Mostly used for clipping pasture, finish mowing, and moving stuff around. Some, occasional, road grading. Dealer made the difference. Will pick up and deliver at no charge for service or repair. Will leave a loaner machine if longer than one day. Closest dealer is Massey, but service really sucks. May not be perfect, but I don't think I will wear it out.

Sometimes I wonder about dealers. Local Kioti man raved on and on about Kioti's. Now he does not sell them anymore. He says they were junk.Same thing was said about the Branson's he had. He sells Montana's now.Just makes you wonder what the real deal is.

The best product is alwasy what you sell, the worst is the one you just quit selling!
All goes back to "How can you tell if a salesman is lying? His lips are moving!"

With them jumping from brand to brand, that's enough to make me gun shy when it would come to parts and servive. That's why IMHO, you stick with Green, Red, or even Blue.

Well I bought a DK 50 3 years ago and have worked the crap out of it in the hay field, not a single problem yet. Old Massey still rockin and rollin after 30 years time will tell on the Kioti but so far I am well satisfied.

Kioti, Montana's, Case, New Holland and Farmtrac..... All are made in South Korea.... coming off the same factories. Just diffrent part packages and paint.

New Hollands are made in Italy and Kioti is not the same company as LG who is putting together the Montana, Branson, and Farm trac tractors. Actually Kioti has an assembly plant in New Wake NC. making them more American made than any other tractor.

Some farm tracs may be made in korea, but the ones I;ve seen and the one I had was made in India
