I have a 5 month male Holstein. I found him in the pasture 2 days ago weak and lethargic. He was not coming to the water trough and he was completely dehydrated, I have been giving him lots of fluids with electrolytes, some microbial gel. He's getting grass, hay and a high protein sweet feed. He has been eating and drinking with encouragement since I brought him into the barn. He does not have diarrhea and is eliminating well but he will not stand. He is lying on his left side and I can not get him to stand or change positions. I was hoping he was just dehydrated but now, I'm worried that it is something worse. Any advice?

I wasn't aware that cattle can get hook worms????? Always associated that with cats and dogs. Was a fecal sample examined for this diagnosis of hook worms?
Did the vet administer any medications? Does the calf have a temperature? You probably need to turn this calf a few times so he isn't lying on the same side 24/7.
Something sounds funny here, but I suggest you call a cattle vet if you care what happens to this animal.
