Lease Calves

Well, our lease calves went home today. They did really well for us this year. They averaged 619 straight across on 11 heifers and 14 steers. Had 4 over 700 lbs with the top one, a heifer at 757. Averaged $0.90/lb on them. So it worked out to $557 per calf. We are really happy, especially considering that some people aren't even averaging $500 on their calves. They are Red Angus based with a touch of Simmental thrown in.

That black brockeled faced neighbor simmental that jumped the fence and got in with your cows?

No, it is the cows that have the simmental in them here. But you have a good memory ;-) .

We won't wee any calves out of that bull until next year, if we do.
