Whew what a night, its 2:30 am and I just got done pulling a calf. I've been worried about a first calf hereford heifer that was due and when I checked on her this evening she was starting to calve. Watched for some time and finally decided to assist. It was a nice little baldie heifer, the first out of my new bull. There is something about watching a new one come into the world that really gets my blood pumping, not sure if I will be able to sleep tonight.

Congrats on the new calf. That's a rewarding feeling when you help one like that and everything turns out good. Hope you don't have to pull any more calves.

Its not fun when you have to pull calves. Good thing that both momma and baby are doing great! Thats one thing I like about having Longhorn momma cows....99.9% calving easy.....100% for us so far....knock on wood!
