As a heifer, Pinkie Pie is due on the 15th of January
and we are Ft. Worth bound on the 19th.
I can't wait to show cow calf pair.
I went to the Princeton FFA Winter Classic and in all four rings got reserve.
The judges said she lacks show presence and if she were a couple frame sizes smaller she would have gotten grand.
Hopefully once she calves they'll see that her frame size isn't that big a deal.

Gabby just get that big ole boy in the flowered shirt to show her for you. They will think she IS a Dexter! :lol2: :lol2:

Gabby, first of all congratulations! You and Miss Pinkie Pie are an awesome team! You and she have done great this year!! She is a very nice heifer and looks to be on her way to becoming a great cow. One thing about showing is that you are getting that one person's opinion on a given day in about a 10 minute period of time. I think your opinion of her is the most important one.

That's exactly what my dad was saying, that we should switch cows!!

Congratulations! You have done an awesome job with her.

Just a little food for thought. Cattle don't read gestation charts, so just because she is due on Jan 15 does not guarantee that she will deliver on that date. She could still be preggers on the 19th.

Are you still going to haul her if she hasn't calved?

I totally agree with Chippie, I have cows that routinely gestate 295 days if they have a bull calf and 292 or so with a heifer calf

Nice animal!, but I'm not one who's afraid of a large framed cow

I know I was just saying that's when she is due to drop.
And yes I'm still taking her.

Just wondering what her gestation time will be by Jan 15th... 285 days? If that's the case I'm quite sure she'd be later by nearly a week

Just be careful hauling her.. on the other hand the ride might make her have a calf in the show

Friends of mine are in fort worth and seem to be doing well..
curious to see how you did OP..your heifer is a nice one..:)
love the name too..;)
