Next time she calves that calf will pop out so fast and far the cow will have to go looking for it! ;-)

A live cow and calf is for sure worth the vet fee!

not if you charge as our vet does,i think it cost about three hundred dollars, but we will do anything for our cows.and its only money, cant take it with us!
A live cow and calf should surely be worth much more than $300.00.

a couple of weeks ago cow s and calves were selling for about 1,000 dollars but has slowed up .we have been getting temperatures of 43.0c so the prices have come down to about 700 dollars and as we speek she has calved with no troubles!

thats better than i was expecting, Bez.

Time we get out of the hole and start looking to re-build the prices will be right back up there. Figure we will stay out of the buying market for the next 10 years or so.

did you keep anything?

Yeah - I think we have a total of 50 head left on the place - still have not counted them for sure so I always say we have about 20 pairs and a few stragglers - did not count them to tell the truth - as we ran them up the ramp I just could not let some go - so I kept throwing the gate open and kicking some out.

It was a b*%ch of a day - a few folks came round to help - actually made it worse - but their hearts were in the right place.

A completely mixed bag - some heifers, some steers and kept a bunch of the foundation group. Gotta' run the youngsters through on Saturday - nutting and de-horning.

Nuff on this topic - but thnx,

Bez!
