I have a 16 mo bull lame in the back legs. I wish I could get a picture of it. No obvious distress to the tissue - no hairy heel wart evident and no apparent swelling. When he walks, he's real tender on his back feet and he kinda pops at the ankles when he shifts weight off one to put weight on the other. I've seen this ankle popping before with hairy heel wart.

I've given him a couple slugs of LA 200 in case there's some foot rot or hairy heel wart I can't see. Any other thoughts? Could it be some kind of founder? Bull's not on grain at all but pretty good hay and some pasture. :???:

Is he breeding ; is his with cany other cattle ?

Not breeding - he's with a group of developing bulls - I develop on pasture and good hay. Could be something in his hips or something from rough housing with the other bulls? At any rate, none of the rest are having a problem. I have seen the ankle popping before though on other cattle - usually hairy heel wart.

My first thought is an injury from "playing" with the older bulls, they tend to ride each other and if the smaller one goes down it could cause nerve damage. I would hit him with an anti inflammatory for a few days as well and see if this does not help . Also separate him from the group if possible.
