I am looking at a MX5100with FEL and backhoe. Its new, 2 remotes, synchro shuttle transmission, 4wd,open station, 3pt. Just wondering if these are working out and if anyone has used the BH92 backhoe attachment. It will be mostly used for medium duty loader work, moving a few bales( mostly with the 3pt), and in the future every attachment I can afford.

i don't have any personal expierence with this model but me and my family have had about 15 kubotas in the last 25 years and all of them have been great in every way i think they have the best hydraulic system of any tractor ther is and for running a loader and lots of attachments like a backhoe it's the only tractor i would look at. we know a guy that does comercial refrigeration for places like grocery stores that has one of the first kubota tractors that you could get with a backhoe and he has used it to dig all of his ditches for about 30 years and all it has ever needed is the oil changed some hoses a few cylenders repacked and just genral maintence and it has over twenty thousand hours and is still going.along with farming we also do excavating and constuction and kubota is the only tractor i would want to use for running a backhoe other than a real backhoe . hope this helps some

mine has R4s an i wouldnt trade them for ags at all.because the R4s can hold up to shredding an working in the brush an woods.

thanks again bigbull, I was leaning towards the R4 tires but wasn't sure. Are there any disadvantages to these? I won't be farmin...will be on sod for the most part.

if your going to be on sod you will definitely appreciate the r4's as the lugs are wider but not quite as deep as AG's i believe the spacing is also closer and don't tend to sink into the ground as much especially if its damp. R4's are better suited for people who spend more time on hard surfaces or will be traversing across grass and don't want to tear it up. You'll give up some traction in the field but if your not farming no problem. The R4's won't do as well in wet clay or mud.
I've got the 18.4 x30 R1 Radials on my M8540 and they work great in the field or in woods when pulling anything heavy or doing serious loader work the traction on AG's is insane, however if you spin a tire you dig big holes fast. I can only traverse the mowed grass when its pretty dry or frozen without leaving tracks from both the front and rear treads.

As far as a the MX i can't comment but as far as Kubotas are concerned I love mine Love mine .

im sure there are some dissadvantages with them.but i have yet to find them.the goodthing is they dont rut things up real bad unless its real muddy.being a wider tire they tend to float more than ag tires.
