My money is on Medal Count #14. On my "bucket list" is a trip the Derby. Only because there are fancy hats and mint juleps. I want one of those julep cups! Instead, I'm watching with a visor on a glass of chardonnay.

Not a bad investment a $10,000.00 horse, turned down $6,000,000. Before the race.
Yea if anything happens to that horse they will have lived up to their Dumb Ass Partners name....you got to figure that Jackass on the back of their silks just rubs some of those blue bloods wrong! Now let's see how he does in a few weeks at the next race.

I know the Topaz lake area very well. Topaz Ranch Estates is a large subdivision of parcels from one half acre to five acres on average. Mostly older retired people. I use to own a get away home there, it is beautiful there with rolling hills of high desert terrain, and low property taxes. Many small places with horses and alfalfa fields.

It's is a great story if the media didn't hype it too much, all I can do is go off what the media says. First oldest trainer to ever win a KD, I'm sure that's true, he was a California based exercise rider as a young man, kid. He rode 4 days in a box car in the early 50's with a California horse to Churchill Downs. He's an old school trainer in the spotlight. California Chrome's dam won one race and was bought by two working stiffs for $8k, paid $2500 for the stud fee, so $10,500 to put this colt on the ground. someone in the industry approached them and informed them they were "dumbazzes" for getting into racing. So is why the partners are "DAP" (dumb azz partnership) and they have a donkey on their silks. One owner owns a company with 13 emps, they make magnetic strips for credit cards, and the other works in some kind of machine shop (I can't remember just what it is). They won just over 1 mil for the derby, in a industry that most horse are bought for well over a mil........ I hope what I heard is true. Now I'm a fan.

That part I can get behind real easy.

I want him to win the Triple Crown as I have never seen a horse do it since I was born in 81 and the last time it happened was 78

Go to utube and watch Secretariats triple crown series. After you watch him run the Belmont you will never be the same.

Yup, there will NEVER be a horse like big red again. As far as the triple crown hopefuls Belmont is the giant killer. Too much distance for most of the speed horse winners from the derby and preakness.

yeah I have seen Secretariat and most of all the other Triple Crown winners it is amazing. Still think it would be pretty cool to see one live basically see history.
