just had to pull a calf from one of my first time hiefers, once i finally got the calf out and got its nose cleared,i kicked on pulled on the hiefer to get her up and when she did she ran off. im gonna give her a couple hours and go back and hope she has came back to it, but dont have much hope. my question is it will be 7:30 before i can get any colostrum, i know sooner the better but that will be about 11-12 hours will the colostrum still do its thing that long after birth? i know it wont hurt.

That's really pushing it, and I'd try anything to get it into them before 4 hours.. Get her penned up! I always keep a bunch of colostrum in the freezer for times like these.. some of it has been in there for years, and I'm going to toss it soon since I have more milkable cows now.
