I'm making some improvements to my working pen and have been calling all over for 6' bow gates. No one seems to stock them and everyone estimated 6 weeks to order them. Hooked the flatbed up this morning and headed to Mt. Pleasant (2 hours away) to the Priefert Seconds store. Let me tell ya, a boy can have some fun there. Not the best pics. The manufacturing part is across the street and it is quite impressive. I saved $145 a gate.

I bought 4 so it was very much worth it. The guy took me on the golf cart and I got to see everything that was in the yard. He even handed me his price sheet and there's a lot of stuff that I didn't have a clue Priefert made. These guys even handle Tru-Test load bars for my squeeze that are $300 less than anywhere I've checked. I'll be making that trip again.

Watched a segment on RFD, on Priefert was surprised to,, at all they made... Started out as a little company....man at the facility they have now...several thousand square feet...no offense to tarter folks,,but that stuff will bend looking at it...

Just curious slick what does"seconds" mean? Chipped paint or some not so pretty welds? Wish I wasn't half a world away I'm looking for the exact same gates but my trip would be like 18 hrs!

Pretty much a scratch and dent type of place. I did see some panels and gates that were slightly bent, too. One section was their salvage spot and that stuff was a mess for a guy like me, but I'm sure some of the resourceful folks here would have loved that spot.

We have one of their hay spears, attaches to the bucket on the loader, has 1 long center spear and 2 smaller spears below & to the sides of the center. One of those suckers got bent, a few years ago, when I speared a bale of hay. Have no idea why that 1 bale resulted in that bent spear/bar. It didn't take much to bend it back.

The spear for the 3-point is far more heavy-duty than the one on the loader. The one for the 3-point, I purchased at an auction for $5.00! :D

Maybe have to take a trip to Texas again?? Wife will probably raise her eyebrows when I hook up a trailer though. I love digging through those kinds of places

Been by it lots of times, never stopped. I know BigBull338 stated several times he got some really good deals from their used and seconds yard.

If you are looking for a chute, call before you go. They go pretty fast. It can be like a garage sale at a million dollar home on some Saturdays. Most of the stuff has just minor dents and paint issues. Most of it is from forklift damage.

The plant is really something special for somebody like me that grew up around that type of work. Some old equipment, some new, some special built by them. Its a big place. They even have their own trucking company. When I was there to get an old chute refurbished, Mr. Priefert came out of his office just to shake my hand and chat for a minute. He told one of his new young salesman to give me a tour of the farm which is right behind the plant. Its impressive. They are good folks and stand behind their products. They made my 20 year old chute look new for just a couple hundred bucks and that included adding some small parts that were not on it originally to make it work better.

I turned by the entry to the farm and it looked really nice. I can only imagine the working area they have. I was set back on how large the plant area really was. Hell, they've named the highway after the guy!

The farm had a mixture of new stuff and old. They try out some things there before they sell to the public.

Beautiful place but they have problems like the rest of us. I saw a runty newborn calf up by itself in one of their demo barns. I ask about it. My tour guide was embarrassed to say that the cow had died and they were having to bottle feed the little guy.
Bad luck happens to everyone.
