Tennessee ought to have some of the highest quality Cattle in the Country this Spring (if it rains) because every Cull Cow has left for the Sale Barn, with the drought getting worse everyday.

Barns that usually sell about 5-600 head a sale are getting in over 1,000 head. Some have even trippled.

If it keeps up, you might not have any cattle at all. I hope things turn around for you though. I know it is discouraging. Keep strong.

i hope the drought breaks for yall soon.your right when the drought gets bad.the sale barn numbers triple.with all the culls going first.an then the good cows start taking the ride to the sale.

Crowder, we went through that over the last two years and frankly, it was so bad that some sold out completely. There were cows going through the sale barn that were not "cull".

What is interesting to me is the cattle going back into the pastures that were emptied. I was looking at one yesterday that used to have some of the best brangus in the county and now there is nothing black in that huge place.
