She is going to the vet but I just wanted to see if anyone has seen anything like this.....she could have stuck her head through the fence and cut herself and now it is infected? Cancer Eye? Just would like some opinions....as you can see in the pic it has been draining a bit....

See what your vet says.
If it is cancer eye, then ship her. They will hold the carcass and examine the lymph nodes to see if has spread. Chances are, they'll discard the head and salvage the carcass, meaning you'll get something back on her. Someone will buy the calf, someone always wants a bottle calf.

Cancer eye
= rifle time

She has 1.5 month old calf at side

Let her suckle this calf till weaning and cull her then, don't retain heifers out of her as certain forms of carcinoma can be heriditary. If it gets really bad to the point of running her condition down have the vet out to remove it surgically, untill then just let her be and make sure you don't miss her at culling time.

I did not know that cancer gets all "puffy" behind it...???

It depends on how far it has progressed and the exact location of the cancer.

It may be something else, but looks just like cancer eye. If she is absolutely sure the eye was perfect 1.5 weeks ago, wait it out another week or two, if it heals, good, if not get the vet out to confirm whether or not it is cancer eye.

It could have very well been that she stuck her head threw the fence to get to the grass on the other side....even though she is not our typical "fence trimmer" but since we are having such a terrible drought she probably did...I guess we will find out later in the week -- KNERSIE -- I am NOT ABSOLUTLY sure that the eye was PERFECT, but the 'sore' has gotten bigger....I am not sure that it was exactly 1.5 weeks ago but deffently NO more than 3.5 weeks ago

Well, vet said it was infact cancer....he recomended to let her raise the calf and then send her on

well as aggressive as it is, you might want too sell them sooner. cause she will be a mess by that time. ive seen them run cows through with the whole eye gone. that did'nt even pay for fuel.
