Johnny Manziel

He's a heck of a player!
How did he slip through everyone's radar except A&M? Was he highly recruited?

I'm having a problem with it, may be in part because he's a freshman, may be because I like three others better, Te'o, Cline or Lee.

It may be because of this;

He was a verbal to the Ducks, same class as Mariota, but then he got home sick and the Aggies stole him. :lol:

Have you ever been to Kerrville, Texas Alan?? Sooner...several schools recruited him...he committed to Oregon but then signed with A&M to be closer to home and they told him he would play QB.....He wanted to play for Texas but they wanted to make him play in the secondary. This kid supposedly can do a 360 degree two handed dunk with a basketball. In HS they called him "The Freak".

BTW Isom...my wig is blonde and a little more curley. :mrgreen:

He is a tremendous athlete. Makes you wonder how they ever lost a game??
but then again.. who was it LA tech? put up over 50 points on em. And LA tech is similar to OU.

But the Aggies still won...seems everybody this year had a week where somebody unloaded a bunch of points on them....Aggies had 5 turnovers against LSU, missed an extra point and two field goals. Florida was first game...(Not really vaid excuses tho). Actually LA Tech put up 50 or more on just about everybody but had zero defense. Top scoring offense in the country and a couple of receivers that will go pro and probably a better offense than OU... 14 players on all WAC team.a real shame they got screwed in the bowl scramble. I think they ended up 9-3.

I watched Johnny Football against Alabama, and I'd give him the Heismann. I don't care how old he is. That was one fine performance.
I have a hard time accepting rules which force kids to "wait their turns" for awards like the Heismann or "wait their turn" to cash in on their skills. If Manziel can make 5 million next year from a willing employer, why shouldn't he cash in.
Athletics is for the young and the knee injuries come all too soon.

Manziel is probably 19 yrs old, just a kid. This is not basketball or baseball, these kids are not ready at that age to go head on with a Ray Lewis or any 24 to 35 year old man who trains and makes a life from pro football. In short they need time for their body's to mature into adult men.

He had Bama fooled the first half. The second half not so much, lucky to get the W but they did. Those QB's that can run just don't hold up in the NFL. He had a great season, as good or better than the rest. I see no reason he shouldn't or can't win the Heismann.
