Jindra double vision experience?

Has anyone used double vision and would like to share their experience?

Used Double Vision last year on 4 heifers. Had 3 bulls (88#@290days; 93#@287days; 91#@287days) and 1 heifer (73#@277days). These are August 2015 calves. All heifers calved without assistance, but it did take the 2 heifers with the bigger bulls a little more time. Calves were EXTREMELY vigorous! They were long and leggy, up within minutes, and didn't fall back down once they were up. Left the 88# bull "intact" (out of a good sized Confidence/Bextor 22month heifer). He weaned @ 5-1/2 months 637# (no grain creep). Different looking, real smooth, lots of top & carry down. Was surprised he never got gangly or scrawny looking. Heifer did a great job, and AI bred back to Tour of Duty due in August. Weaned him earlier than usual, as I figured he was big enough and heifer needed a break. Looks pretty correct all the way around. The 73# heifer was out of a shorter, WIDER, Confidence/Strategy 26month heifer. Heifer calf will be well over the 600# mark at weaning (no creep), and will be taller and longer than her dam, pretty front ended and really nice hip (like her dam).

Will hold off until these grow up a bit before I use any more semen. Then I may try him on some 2nd year cows. The birthweights on my cows average high 80's to high 90's; heifers I like mid 70's to 80# preferably. These were a bit high in BW, but they did come pretty darn easy for their weight. Have to give my heifers a little bit of credit though, too :)

Will know more in another year or two...

I have a dozen calves I'm about to wean out of him. I like what I see. I wouldn't use him on heifers - not that I had any trouble with the cows I bred to him. Definitely more frame. I will use again but will wait till he's on sale.

I used him, have a bull calf that was 916# at 205 days, a hoss of a bull, I think . Heifer birthed him unassisted but she is a big girl, his bw was 90#, bred her back to Double Vision , I am hoping for a heifer I can use for a ten x son I hope to have. Really nice calf I think , too young to tell, lol. The heifer with ten x is just 60 days into pregnancy, and not sure of sex, may use Double Vision son Double 00 Huck, for the other calf if heifer , either way will be big frame animals I think.
