Also depends on the hay situation in your area. Out here, this is the first year since I have been raising cattle that hay is real tough to find and real expensive. A month ago I tried to sell two heifers and a steer (10 months old) for $500 ea in the paper. Ran the ad for 3 weeks.... not one call. Seeing plenty of cheap cows and calves in the paper now. Prices at the sale barn are way down also. Check and see what other cow are going for now. I checked our morning paper and bred cows are for sale for about $700 ea.

$900.00 to $1,400.00 depending on size and what she is bred too. Add $200.00 for registered. Be sure to check all four quarters. You can knock off $500.00 if she has a hard quarter.
