I had a Jersey Heifer AI'd on 9/21/11. I'm thinking she's going to calf around 6/30/12. Does that sound about right?

Thanks,
Phil

I had a beef heifer AI'd on September 23rd, so I've been interested also.

Here's a table that makes it easier. This is based on a 283 day gestation. My Merck Veterinary Manual says Jerseys are 279 days, and the table says younger animals tend to calve earlier. So I'd be looking anytime after June 20th. Perhaps others have more experience with Jerseys.

Thanks for all the information and for the table! It's a whole lot easier than the way I figured it out.

Thanks,
Phil

My 'calving and mating notebook' has a table with a 282 day average at the back for dairy cows - must be about right because my cows tend to calve more or less to their calculated dates.
21 Sep comes to 1 July on the table.

There is no easier calving breed than jerseys, I wouldn't worry too much about her
