JD 401c backhoe

Picked one of these up at a farm sale yesterday. Runs good just needs a little tinkering like most farm equipment. Going to need a couple of cylinders repacked and the loader valve rebuilt(it leaks). Also needs a radiator since when I went to check antifreeze the neck came off with the cap. Where do you guys get yours from? Also any other tips or tricks for these? All in all seems to be a solid machine and everything works. Thanks!

Just clean off the area and re solder it on!

Our JD 350B crawler had some odd ball JD cap on it, and they wanted close to $100 for a new one... I found one with the same size neck from a car, unsoldered it and put it on this rad and works great... just clean and flux well, and use a little propane torch, even a butane pencil torch will probably do it

I don't know much about the rest of the hoe though

We repack our own hydraulic cylinders except the ones on the dumptrucks I take those to a shop the smaller ones we do. I try to find a radiator that matches up with the equipment although sometimes you can find something as Nesi says.
