This may be a dumb question but why does a JD 2755 tractor blow diesel out the cap if you open it with the tractor running? I just noticed it and was curious if that is normal.

Non-vented caps will do that because of pressure build up, when they are full, but only a little bit.

It's the fuel return line.....yeah it makes you shut the engine down to fuel.

I have a 2755 and mine does pretty much the same thing. There is a fuel line that returns excess fuel back to the tank. Apparently the excess fuel line dumps into the tank very near the filler cap. Mine doesn't piss a full stream but it sure as heck splatters all over the place.

That is what it was. Poor placement for the return IMO.
