Ray, I did a quick search on the net, found the product but no info on what you need to know. If you have time, a more thourough search might yield something. I'd be pretty careful till I knew for sure. Sorry I can't be of more help at this time. Good luck!

As far as I know, and have experienced, it is perfectly OK to use on pregnant cows. IF it was NOT the label would so indicate, as in the case of Valbazen, which is often used by folks that need liver fluke control and for whatever reason choose not to use IvomecPlus. But even with Valbazen, as I recall, the only caution period for non-use is within the first 45 days of pregnancy.

I've used Ivomec on my bred cows before and it works fine. There has been a rare case where there has been problems, but these are usually on cows that are already over stressed because of infestations of worms or lice. My brother had a problem with a couple of years ago with Dectomax. I think it was a Pfizer Product. It caused some of his cows to go into early labor and he lost a few calves and a couple of cows in the deal. Monsanto settled with him though. My opinion is that he waited too late to treat them as some were looking pretty stressed but the vet said it was the product that caused the problem so he got paid out.

CRR,

To make a long story short, Dectomax is a Pfizer product. Monsanto, was very briefly a part of Pfizer, but has never been associated with animal health care products, unless you count BST. Monsanto, by the way, is once again an independent entity. Just wanted to clarify.

That's interesting. I was sure it was Monsanto that paid him out but perhaps I'm mistaken, maybe it was Pfizer. I'll have to call and check with him. How long ago were they affiliated?
Now that's neat, I was under the impression that we could only edit our last post but I can edit the one before as well. Look, all mention of Monsanto is gone.
