May be wrong but it seems broad leaf plants are the problem.
I'm thinking maybe milo and after harvest and hard freeze turn in cattle.

Thoughts ?
Texas A&M University (TAMU) Agricultural Extension services, located in Overton, Tx. Publish a lot of information of the sort based upon scientific research which sometimes goes into plant structures which respond to different things. Might www your question and check out their responses.

One thing I learned had to do with broadleaf herbicides: 2-4-D attacks plants with non-parallel grain structures and doesn't do much to parallel structures like you find in grasses. Hence they kill the weeds and leave your meadow grass standing. Always wondered how and now I know.
