A friend was here yesterday evening a number of times he said it was going to rain. I said yep in about 2 months. I still had 21 bales to pick up. But it is raining!!! Go ahead and rain on my hay. It is suppose to be 90 degrees tomorrow. This 1/4 inch will dry off pretty quick. I will just wait a couple days to put them in the stack. When you live in the dessert you always celebrate when it rains. All 3 pickups have the window down. And it is raining. Oh well that will dry out too. The good news is it is raining!!!

Thunder and lightning is exactly why I am afraid to pray for rain this time of year. It seems any time we get so much as a few drops of rain in July or August, it is accompanied by plenty of lightning. Most of the time the rain evaporates before it even hits the ground, so all you get are the lightning strikes which bring more fires.
We haven't seen any rain in this area for some time.

There is a computer driven site called rain drops. I don't know how accurate it is. I pulled up Baker county on it. You click on a spot and it gives you the 24 hour total for that spot. I clicked on a lot of spots around the county just now. The results varied. But it gave me by far the highest number at 0.88 inch. The farther north had lower numbers. It gave me 0.05 for a friend's area in the north east corner of the county. Again I don't know how accurate it is but it is interesting.

Not complaining ! I mow about 20 yards . Something an old retired teacher started doing years ago . My mad money , probably spend more of it on the cows than on me . Anyway , went to mow 6 of my yards at a subdivision after lunch . Unloaded my mower and started on yard 1 . About halfway done it started raining . So I thought I’ll at least finish this one . By the time I finished there wasn’t a dry tread on me . Friend was coming to mow his yards . I called him and told him forget it . He laughed and said it couldn’t have rained that much . About 30 minutes later he called and said water was running down the streets ! No kidding ! 🤪
