Do you think this is totaled or not. They are saying the lady who hit me was going about 65, and she never braked. I guess they said my two driver side wheels when off the ground about 3 feet and came back down. We will find out tomorrow hopefully if it is totaled or not. What do you think?

This day and age I would say yes just looking at the wheel. May be some frame damage. Did this happen today, if so I hope you're not too sore tomorrow. Take care

Alan

Alan is probably right. But, depends on the year..if it is a late model I would say not. Can't tell but it looks a little like it may be an '04-newer model. The new computer controlled frame machines literally bend/stretch the main frame back to specs. Watched a truck frame repair a few months ago hit the same way...couldn't believe the results. The frame is the key.

At the cost of body work, parts and frame straigtening it doesn;t take nearly as much to total a vehicle as you would expect. If the cost exceedes a percentage of the actaul value the insurance company will total it. Doesn;t mean it's not repairable, just that they aren't willing to pay to have it done. Then it will be sold as salvage and some (usually fly by night) outfit will buy it and fix it up and resell it. Some states don;t even have to notify the buyer that it had a wrecked title.

Probably not totalled. I think whoever is guessing that ladies speed needs retraining.

I agree with jgn on the speed estimation. From what I can see the car looks to be a Mercury Marquis? Judging from the faded headlight covers I would say it is several years old. Like others said if the frame is bent, depending on the age of the car, my guess IF the frame is bent is that it will be totaled.

Speed - well under 65

Totalled? Not a body man - but there is some serious "under hood" damage - it would not surprize me in the slightest.

Be glad you were not T-boned.

Someone smiled upon you.

Now it is time to do the insurance thing. Not fun - but you will manage.

Stay well,

Bez!

im going to say its totaled.b/c if the front wheels was off the ground 3ft it bent an bowed the frame.an no i would not try to fix the frame.b/c it still wont drive right if you do.an when you trade it youll loose on the deal.

how many miles does your vehicle have ? look likes the control arm is bent or strut assm. possible frame. a smack like that can be deceving. alot of unseen damage

Got a call from the insurance today, they did total it. It is a 98 with 164000 miles. A policeman clocked her going 65 just moments before she hit me, he also said she never hit her brakes. I'm not for sure if all that is correct or not, some of that information went through several people before I got it, and you know how stories can change. I'm sure the insurance will find out how fast she was going. I am doing very well, never missed a day of work. My back is hurting me still some off and on, but I am just thanking God I am alive, it could have been a lot worse. Thank you for your input, I just wanted to know what you thought. By the way the frame was bent. Looking for some new wheels now! :)

2007 Vet is nice, more speed to get out of the way!

Good luck,
Alan

Hubby is hauling the parts for the new ford GT. The one that is in Alan Jackson's video. The stamping plant he picks up the parts at says what he hauls, just bare sheet metal shell, is worth $80,000.

G.W.'s wife...keep my hubby working and order a GT. They only run in the $250,000 range. :D

That's the slickest car ever built by a US manufacturer. I thought it was when it was the GT 40 and the production car is just as neat.

Naw, save your money. Get the new Shelby Mustang. Drive it till is quits. Put it in a dry barn for 15-20 years, pull it out, sell it and retire.
