Is it OK?

I've got a friend that has a couple cows and a horse, the other day I went by his house and his cows were gathered around a bale of sudan hay and his horse was right in there too. I've heard sudan is not good for horses and I told him that but for the life of me I couldn't remember why.
 
No its not good Sudan has effect on a horses nervous system I have see them lock up in the back end and some die.If the nitrates don't kill one first.If there was a problem with that they would already be dead.Nitrate poisioning kills right now.
