When the movie was being made the fine folks in LaGrange didn't wqnt anymore bad publicity and refused to let the film crew do their movie there. The fine folks in Hallettsville (a few miles away) told the film makers to "come on down" and do the movie in H'ville - which they did. A short time later Hallettsville was flooded again and a lot of the locals folks blamed all the bad JuJu on making the "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" film in Hallettsville. By the way, if you remember the domino tourament in the film the heavy set fellow playin' is "Tiny" and he runs Alfreds Produce (a feed and seed store) in Hallettsville. There was another place that Marvin closed down, too. It was in Sealy, well, just down the road from Sealy on IH 10. I had driven by that old run down motel for years never suspectin' anything going on there. One night after a buddies bachelor party the party go'ers decided to take Ole Dennis to the C'ranch in Sealy - which we did. We pulled through the "gates" and behind the run down facade at the front was a very well lite parking lot, side walk, etc. Fortunately for us the place was closed - but the madam did give us a business card with a local Houston phone number so we didn't have to drive so far to see if they were open. And by the way, I did tell my wife so you can't hold that one against me.
