Interesting, smart cows

Being far enough south to avoid snow like this I have no concept of what's happening in this picture. Is he "pushing" the cattle down a snow plowed R.O.W. or "pulling" them with a bale of hay on a loader? Either way I'm just grateful I don't have to deal with that white stuff.
 
I think he's just clearing a path for them.. looks like quite a job! That's a lot of cows too, that bale isn't going to last long if they get ahold of it!

They were bringing them up into the corrals closer to home due to the snow depths making it impossible to feed them or for the cattle to get to the grass underneath. :tiphat:
