Inter 5288 Tractor

I am planning to buy another tractor. 162 hp PTO Inter 5288 1985 4 X4. Any comments. Is somebody had problems with this model.

There are a few transmission updates that should have been done by Mother Harvester, so you might want to try to find out if they have been done. A few years back Case was still taking care of the ones that showed up that hadn't been done. Don't know if that deal is still available. Probably not since the tractors are around 20 years old now. If it's still running, most likely it has had the updates done. Other than that I think they're a good tractor. Had a 50 and a 5488 for a number of years. Always liked them. Good luck.

These 88 series are a strong tractor. A word of caution, however. Getting parts to repair them can be slow or difficult. When CASE bought out IH, a bunch of these tractors had been built, but very few parts. CASE took the red paint, put it on their white&orange tractors, and orphaned the 88 series. This was unfortunate, because they are darn good tractors.
Good news is, you can buy them pretty right. Bad news is, they won't hold resale value well. Just thought you'd like to know. CHEERS.
