Insecticial Ear Tags

I disagree...used Cylence Ultra tags last year on a bunch and there was a big difference in the number of flies compared to the few who had no flytags. But I think you're supposed to alternate tags each year. Also used Durasect II pour-on, but the effects of that didn't last nearly as long as it said it should.

I used ear tags along with mineral bucket w/IGR this past year with great results. Put ear tags on the cows in May and put mineral bucket w/IGR in the field. Didn't have a fly problem..virtally not present. cheers, Bill

I've rotated tags for several years now along with backrubs and face bullets. I have been well satisfied with the control.

I used Y-Tex tags for the first time last year. Used the python tags. Thhey boast they are good for 5 months. I saw not one fly on the herefords for every bit of 4 months. I take them out durning fall work up and plan to use the warrior brand tags from y-tex this year.
I did not have one case of pink eye all year. Those tags are a little pricey compared to other I've used but they sure saved me some time and labor in wrastleing calves to treat pinkeye.

No matter the brand of tag you use, you need ot remove them when they stop working and rotate brands so there is different insecticide working the next year.

I would recommend the y-tex insecticide tags.

We use the tags as well, but this year I'm gonna try the boluses. The boluses are supposed to give you 5 months of control, released over time.
