I have a few angus cross cows with some pretty new calves that need worming. I picked up some IVOMEC injectable. I've read that you need to be careful when using it because of complications due to grubs. I live in Kansas. Is this a safe time of year to use it? Also, any recommendations for vaccines for cows that have calves on them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you do a search on here about "warbles" you should find information about grubicide timing

As far as vaccines go, I would recommend that you get with a veterinarian or knowledgeable cattlemen in your area, and follow his advice for what you need to be vaccinating for there.
As far as my area, I vaccinate twice a year, they have calves on them in the fall. Thanksgiving Day ish procedure:
Virashield 6 VL5 HB
Covexin 8
Pour on or injectable wormer, or both

I sometimes go ahead and give the calves their first rounds of the Virashield and Covexin 8 at this time, followed a month later with second rounds and knife.

My bull turnout is Dec. 10 ish.
