I see Anheuser's board turned down InBev's offer to purchase. Now InBev has filed suit in Maryland to get the sharholders to evict the current Board of Directors so all shareholders can vote on the purchase. That just seems a little backward to me.
From what I have read, InBev has already been approved for financing, and has prepaid some pretty hefty lender fees. Not talking about a few hundred or even a few thousand dollars in closing costs you or I might experience, hundreds of thousand of dollars. They must have been pretty sure Anheuser would sell at that price.
I'm glad they turned it down. I try to buy everything American, and I just don't particularly care for the "other" American made beers. Give me a cooler of Anheuser Busch's finest.
