Have been down to Hounduras,Costa Rica,Belize etc. I gotta tell yah. I have yet to have a steak that didn't taste like xxx. Is that why we let them import the stuff - for the burger market?
Seen some amazing large spreads, but can see why they will never reach the degree of quality we have in the states.

Did meet a shrimp farmer in Belize that was from Texas. Intersting stories. Sounded like he had a good thing going down there.

Just wondered everyone's opinion on this.

Develop sales co-operatives selling a quality trade marked product that attracts a premium price,so not be in competition with cheap, poor quality imports. British farmers are facing this problem with supermarkets importing poor quality, low welfare raised meat products, by identifying their quality high welfare product-and monitoring supermarkets for dishonest labeling of imports.

The truly sad thing rgv-- is that the USDA permits the Packer/retailer to remove the import country markings, restamp with a USDA inspected stamp, and pass it off to unknowing US consumers as US beef- further devaluing good US beef.....

That is why we need to get the USDA to implement the already passed Mandatory-Country Of Origin Law law....
