Did an errand in E-burg this afternoon; stopped to see a co-worker's brand new baby goat heading home on the old highway from town, minding my own business, doing the speed limit or less (cuz I hate that intersection by the I-90 #101 fruit stand), AND GOT T-BONED there. Stupid kid ran the stop sign. For a fraction of a second, I thought I saw hesitation on his face and I hit the brakes, but he was already out there in front of me. Radiator/front end of the Jeep are shot; the Corolla is totally screwed up on the front end, but fortunately, impact was over his driver's side tire/front quarter panel, and not the driver compartment or it could have been much worse for him. Tied up that X for 2 hours. Said "HI" to lots of the neighbors as I was there! I'm rattled, but okay; as are the 3 kids in the other car. I think Chinese, looking at his name, and his English was good but broken. Both rigs (my '98 Jeep, thank God -- not Ruby the '06 Dodge truck) and their Corolla will probably be totalled. He told the deputies and me repeatedly how very sorry he was and that it was all his fault. He has insurance, as do I, so we'll see . . . .

I just hope that big preg. cow doesn't decide to do something interesting later today, cuz I'm absolutely NOT in the mood for it!

I am okay -- just totally rattled. Mom RN, Sister RN and Daughter RN said "Go to ER." I've been bumped around before; will go there if I think it's necessary. Just a little sore, no head-ache or dizziness, no nausia, no bleeding from anywhere. Am self-medicating right now, and just pyssed and MAH. Big preg cow is not going to bother me tonight. Thanks, LazyARanch!

MAH??

(my A$$ hurts??)

made as be nice

Mad as HE77 -- turn the 7's. Have other parts a little sore; A$$ seems to be working okay. Just totally pyssed. At fault driver gets $175 fine -- I have to replace a dependable (albiet older) commuter 4X4. Will NOT drive my "sports car" 06 Dodge diesel on icey roads this winter. Ruby stays in the barn except for long trips and hauling. Grumble, grumble, grumble . . . .

Glad that you are okay. Take a sit in a hot tub of water. You are going to ache tomorrow probably. Don't mix too many self medications. LOL

Glad you are not hurt i love my jeep it has 180,000 miles and it still runs great.and looks good.its long been pay for and i hate the thought of buying a new one.

WV Mud River -- Are you okay up there, with the hurricane stuff????

Yeah, JEEP LOVE -- bitter sweet! My ins. company's adjuster told me today that the Jeep owners are sort of a "strange breed of cat" with their loyalty! They virtually totalled her. Have repair estimate and my company's replacment $ numbers. Won't hear from the BAD DRIVER'S carrier for a day or two re: their $ numbers. Now have to decide whether to get her fixed, or try to find a reliable replacement. Waiting on numbers . . . . :cry2:

Very glad to hear you're okay. Aggrivating I know, but what can you do except be thankful and move on. I'd take it to a mechanic that you trust with your life to assess whether or not it's worth repairing. If you don't have one you trust that much, replace the car. Too many things to worry about otherwise.

Look at the Land Rovers before you decide on another jeep. I replaced my Wrangler 8 years ago with a LR Discovery. I'll never drive anything else again. ;-)

Yes , WV was not involved I live between huntington and charleston( our state capital) we did not even get any rain, that we could have used. but i did feel the earthquake the other day( only slightly)thanks for asking

You now have the opportunity to buy a Ford F-150, which you should have done in the first place. Look on the bright side.

John, my "sports car" is a Dodge, '06, 3/4 ton, manual, Cummins diesel. I leave Ruby parked as much as possible. She goes out for hauling and road trips. Looking for a replacement Jeep . . . . , my all-weather commuter rig. No brag -- that's just the way it is here!

WV MudRiver -- :) :) :) The "strange breed of cats" that are Jeep owners (as an adjuster told me this week) must have special Jeep Gods watching over. Made a very good settlement on mine today after some hashing through the week; kept the wrecked Jeep with good engine/tranny, interior, tires/wheels and body past the front fenders because I plan to buy something similar and might need some spare parts some day. Now, the replacement hunt is on.

HAVE: Replacement Jeep Cherokee Sport, 2000 vintage, with a bunch of miles less than my dead one. Bought it in Boise last weekend, but travelled by myself, so couldn't bring her home. A younger brother in OR going to ID to help our folks with some stuff this week was also buying a car hauler trailer and returning yesterday. We met him w/ Jeep on the trailer down in the Columbia River Gorge area late yesterday, off-loaded the "new" Jeep, and brought her home. Put her through her paces, and she ran like a top over several mountain passes. And she's very easy on the eye. (Big sigh . . . ) So glad I can park Ruby again! Have been very paranoid driving the last few weeks.
