I'm baffled

I'm sure there are some kids that get a raw deal in high school sports. I know some school officials take winning way too serious.

But I have seen a lot more good than bad come from kids involved in sports.

I have seen some raw deals in FFA and 4-H, but again much more good than bad. jmo

Some like them some don't. My family on both of my parents sides are HUGE UK fans. I was raised watching every game they played. I still do. My mother used to be able to tell you every statistic of every player on a UK basketball team from the first game until the end of the season. At 81 she doesn't keep up with the statistics anymore but she seldom misses a game. If I can't be home I record it and watch it later. As I have gotten older the losing doesn't bother me as much now. My oldest grandson has tried baseball and soccer and isn't crazy about either and has no desire to even try football. That is one of the reasons I have decided to get a few cows. Maybe he will have an interest in 4H or something. Who knows he decide to be a bull rider.

Some folks just be lookin always for an excuse ta get snot slingin drunk and act as stupid as they be able. Sports be fittin the bill here, cause win or lose, it works either way. Team won? Get drunk, turn over some cars and beat some folks ta celebrate! Team lost? Get drunk, turn over some cars and beat some folks ta console ya self.

I'll tell ya, its hard to get everyone together anymore, but if a U of M game comes on, my two teenage sons and I are all in front of that TV watching the thing. We're not cussing and beating each other up, but we're jumping up and down when there is a touchdown or covering our heads when there is an interception. I'm not saying its right, but its about the only family time I get with a 20 and 18 y/o anymore. (It helps being the only people in Alabama rooting for the Maize and Blue)

Just another means of identifying oneself. No different than tatoos, body jewelry, weird hair or whatever.

This post got me considering getting a tattoo of Reveille just to T off some Georgia fans. (My wife wouldn't mind that ;-) )
