Do you think maybe that helped remove the nation from under the Creator's umbrella of protection?

We only have to follow the nation of Israel through the old testament to see that. When they have departed from the ways of God they have trouble and when they return to the ways of God they prosper. Isn't it interesting that the United States has been so supportive of Israel and so successful at the same time. In Genesis chapter 12 verse 3 God tells Abraham I will bless those that bless you and I will curse those that curse you.
