One of life's pleasures that the Southern Folks miss out on.

Pics were taken Fri morning, just before the latest blizzard.

Open water  been frozen over since mid Nov.

They were just saying on the radio that the resorts around here are a little worried they won't have enough open water for the opener. How are the lakes looking near you you?

The small lakes were opening by Fri. This morning were iced over again. I can remember a few openers with snow. One time the net froze to the side of the boat. I mentioned that the BL earlier today, how cold it can still be in mid May. I also said for sure, that I would NEVER have another net freeze to the side of my boat.

I love fishing more than anything else ~ but I won't go out on opener.
Too dang cold for sure!!! :frowns:

i dont want to live where its ice 4 to 5 months of the year.busted my butt enough when the south has ice.

Went to feed the fish in our large pond just last week and the channel cat are already coming up to feed. The water temp was 60 deg.I think it's time I had a mess of channel cat.

Has anybody ever tried riding a bicycle on one of those frozen ponds?

Nope, the wheels are put away, and out comes the sleds and skates.
