It's 10 degrees here right now and the wind is coming across this ridge like a freight train.

You know the first story teller does not have a chance. But I jut checked our overnight forecast and it is -16 f with a 5-10mph wind. It is - 6 at 5:45pm.

When I lived down that way.. I dreaded this weather cause I knew I would be dragging square bales freezing. Then once I busted the bales and win got ahold of them more hay blew away than got eaten im sure. The weather that I asked toad does it look familiar is where I grew up at.

I used to feel sorry for my cattle until I worked a job near Chicago about this time of year once. Seemed -25 degree wind chill was no big deal to the locals. Felt bad for the cattle out in the open. Nice place but I was sure glad to head back to these hollows.

Yes, that area is usually much colder than here.

Fitz, I had spent 2 straight years living in Cuba, then 2 years in Pensacola Fla and went directly from Fla to Waukegan Ill in Oct (just a little NorthW of Chicago) and stayed there until May. I did not find it all that cold, I suppose because of the lack of humidity. Very low temps for sure, but it wasn't that damp numbing cold I have felt elsewhere.

I guess it will get down below zero here tonight and the wind is really whipping. Seems like the wind never stops here but I guess that has something to do with living right on the edge of the Blue Ridge.

LOL I did my time there your turn.

Cold her to just got home the truck said 5 and the wind is blowing around 20mph with snow blowing. This is the first really cold day we have had and I am already for spring. Spent all day outside working about 30 ft in the air standing in a bucket truck got off work had to put out hay at my house then had to the other farm I lease to put out hay and ended up having tractor problems. Must have had some water in my fuel the tractor started up and ran long enough to get a roll of hay out of the barn then it died and wouldn't start back. Finally had to get a neighbor to come over and put hay out for me. So 14 straight hours in this crappy weather Iam pooped.
