I love white faced calves

Pretty calves. Nothing is much prettier than a white faced calf. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Gotta love 'em.

Which is most common, Hereford bull on black cows or black bull on Hereford cows? Or is there any preference?

For the end result it does not matter.
For the process of getting there it does not matter much.
Some places have cheaper Hereford cows than Angus cows, and some argue it is better to deal with only one crazy, so they do it with Angus bull.
In some places Angus cows are easy to get because they are so common, and then the breeder just needs to get a Hereford bull and might travel a bit to get it.
In most regards the breeds are very similar for all practical purposes.

Thanks ya'll. Rafter and Black and Good are always posting pictures of some fine white faced calves and seem to have the same goals as I so I thought id post some pictures. Most of mine are from brangus cows. The one in the second picture is a simmangus. B&G, I checked my photo bucket and didn't have a picture of my bull in it but I'll try and find one.

RBB, thanks for the heads up on the feeder. It's a new one and the only one like it that I have. I haven't had a problem with it yet however it has stayed full of hay all winter. I'll take your advice and move it to a field with out younger calves. I do like that ring though. It stays together and has not gotten bent yet.

I have had to take a hacksaw and cut the middle ring to get a calf once. Have heard of other people having the same problem. Don't take them long to get a leg banged up pretty bad. You have some nice calves hate to see one get crippled up.
