Fresh sticks and mud on the old lodge and their territorial piles of debris marking 'their' pond means I have a new pair of breeding beavers. 1st ones since spring of 2020. Time to get out the connibears.

They are so destructive! We used to have a trapper come out, but he moved and nobody else around here seems interested.

Our Lab/Greyhound mix used to kill & subsequently eat them. He was a prolific hunter! He finally got nailed by a big female when he was 10 and ended up with a ton of staples but he did kill her. And he also decided his beaver-killing career was over.
