How much slack do you leave in your hydraulic line on a cutter? They delivered my cutter friday and the dealer noticed my hoses were a little long so he tied the hoses to my left three point hitch arm. He said this would keep it out of the PTO. First time I turned hard to the left my left rear tire ran over the hose and broke one of the lines.

Ours have a 1' loop along with the usual slack in them tied off on the hog. I never tie off to one of the draft links. Don't know if you where talking about a hog.

did the dealer offer to replace it :?:

 you might try mounting a "pogo" stick on the cutter
you might find a old cb ant. at a garage sale/auction
the long whip types with the heavy spring at the bottom
cut and curl to desired height
if you need a visual aid look on the back of semi's behind the cab for a pole with air/elec lines attached at the top
