Hvac question

Freezing up almost immediately. I've worked on automotive system quite a bit. I have gauges ,vacuum pump and some r22..maybe not enough.
I'm thinking with the immediate freeze up it's the expansion value which means calling a repair man. Any experts. What should my high and lows be???

that's one area I need to study more. I will admit when it comes to hvac Ill have to turn in my man card and call a repairman because I don't know enough about it to fix it myself. Now I feel like a failure fence!, Thanks a lot

Is the fan working? Are coils dirty? What are your pressures? Low on freon will make it freeze up too

Fans are working coils cleaned. Haven't checked pressure yet. What should they be,

Higher than a car sky. Should be a tag on outside unit for pressure. Take manufacture /google for a pressure chart.

Repair tech just called. Plugged evaporator.
350.00 seems cheap enough. But another night without A/c.
Reckon I'll just work all night. Rather work and sweat than lay in bed and sweat.

Pick up a cheap window unit for emergency's. They are handy when you need one , Plus the small 110 ones will cool one room and can be run off a generator

You won't regret it. I have quite a few installed each year on odd jobs, no crawl space, flat roofs, etc. more efficient, quieter, better warranties, etc than window units.

Most A/C systems have a receiver/DRYER. The dryer part contains a desiccant that when the bag that holds it comes apart the desiccant gets pumped all through the system.
