Just want to let all you Texans know that our family will be praying for you, and that some how this coming storm will bring relief from the dry weather and nothing more.

We know what it is to get storms here as well, getting two hurricanes and floods back to back last fall....still have yet to see 100% restoration... maybe never happen.

Our prayers are with you all for the next several days! :cboy:

Thanks Medic - I'm really hoping for a good bit of rain. We could really use it. I doesn't look like this storms going to be too bad, it's been downgraded last I heard on the radio.

Hopefully everyone that is really dry will get some rain out of Emily, and nothing more!

Best of luck to everyone in south Texas. It looks like that's where it will hit.

The worst will be down in Mexico. In deep south Texas they are saying at worst tropical storm strength, but that is still bad enough. Just hope it doesnt strengthen anymore, which it most likely will. Darn thing is not moving AT ALL right now. Probably will be Category 4 before landfall.

Well, over the past week and a half, we have got about 2 feet of lightning and thunder and about 4 inces of rain here in Flatonia. It's really been a relief for us. Everything was drier than a popcorn f__t. By the way, were about 60 miles southeast of Austin, right off the I-10. Everthing is starting to turn green again. Amen to that.

Glad to hear some of you guys out in Texas are getting some much needed rain. I have hay on the gorund and hope to get it in tomorrow before the next tropical wave hits us. They originally said Friday and pretty much moved it back to Sat now. I only cut one small area. I didn't want to risk anymore with all rain we have had here.

so long as we can have a dry ride down to Houston...(we are moving our son down there to go to school), and i think we will probably..hopefully..miss any rain by the time we go...but after dinner on friday...let her rain.... :D

I'd just guess that it probably did the folks in deep south Texas a lot of good. Hit land far enough away to not do much wind damage but yet south Texas and extreme northeast Mexico was on the wet side of the hurricane. Will probably add a lot of water to Lake Amistad and Falcoln Lake, so that should help the veggie and citrus folks way down in the valley. Those lakes have been way low for years and irrigation water in short supply due to a long drought, coupled with the fact that the USA hasn't had the balls to make the Mexicans live up to the water allocation and sharing provisions of the treaty signed years ago.

my timing was pretty good...so i dont think i deprived anyone too much  got unloaded and got his stuff into his apt. ran and got some supplies....and then the rain came....just wished we could have brought some back with us..
