We are experiancing a mini-drought here in Wood County, East Texas. Been about a month since rain. Pastures and hay medows are in a rapid decline. Some smaller stock pounds are getting low and some are dry already. It is hard to beleive it has happened this fast. But 100 degree to 112 degree will dry and burn things in a hurry. I have been haying some of the herd. I have one farm I am planning to cut. It has had some rain but the rest of the places are dry and hot.

Drying out pretty fast here too but compaired to the last two years we are in fantastic shape. We did catch a quick 2/10ths this late this afternoon and even though it has been hot and even thou we haven't broken 100 yet we did hit 99 today for the first time. Might have made a hundred if it hadn't been for the shower. Still have some fair grass since we haven't increased numbers from forced selling in 2008 and last year. Got a decent supply of hay. Nothing fantastic but it will feed a cow.

JD its hot an dry here as well.but a week ago we got a good 3 inch rain.did you get any rain your way then.
