Hunting Season opens Saturday

It rained here most of the day so I mounted my new scope. Jogeephus was nice enough to handle all my needs with my new scope. And then he met up at midnight with us so I had it to play with today. Thanks again I really appreciate your help Joe. Looks pretty good on my rifle to. This is going to be the first time in 35 years that I'm going to miss opening day of rifle season. My son has decided we're going to fish instead. Good luck to all y'all that hunt, and be safe.

Hook, it's a Nightforce 5x20x56mm with a lighted reticle and zero stop. The Feds just called fishing season it closes noon Friday. If the good Lord's willing I will be hunting Saturday morning. :banana:

Yes Hook its for kings we've been wearing them out. We had 9k in for last week. Caught some tuna also. Been eating high on the hog. I forget to take pictures just to busy most of the time. You know what I mean.

260 with a 120gr bullet will kill any deer on the east coast and most of the rest of the country. I use a 243 for deer and antelope.

280 Ackley or larger for Elk.

That looks nice on your rifle but I still think it would look better on mine. Every day I held it waiting on you to stop playing Captain Ahab I got more and more tempted to keep it for myself.

I see the bullets, so did you get to shoot it any? If so, how did it do?

Thanks for the fish. We had tuna tonight and it was great. Soaked in Italian dressing then dusted with Cajun spice and blackened for 2 minutes on both sides and it was wonderful stuff.

Our deer season opened last Saturday. I took my new to me Ruger 77 in 7x57 for a walk in the fog. It was a nice morning for a walk. Not much for seeing things other than fog.

Yea we call that " walking in the woods with a gun" hunt...
